After a long day of fixing the house to sell I’m sitting back and having lefover broccoli cheese rice and a Dragon Lady from Lithuania. It’s not bad at all and at 8.2% gets the job done.
Also yes I bought it for the amazing van mural artwork.

A new DIPA from one of our larger local breweries, yes, it has a cat on the label. It’s pretty good, but I think I like their single stuff better - this one is pushing 8.1

Not ashamed to admit I love the can and would buy some just for that

That works, I don’t think I’ve had a coke in years.

Tonight is Commodore Select vodak., m ade just up the road in Savannah GA, by the shot. Cheap at $12 a half gagl on. Best vodak I’ve found for sipping or sluggin’ and it’s so cheap.

Wine, for once. The viral hibernation- isolationism is straining even my cheap beer appreciation , so I told the guy next door from work to recommend something; so far, very wine-like. Reddish, to be technical. But 8.2% Lager is news to me!

That looks delicious

Never really developed a taste for wine
I used to really only drink when I traveled but the last month or so everything just started to get to be too much so I drink a beer or two a few nights a week which helps a good deal. I’ll pick up an interesting 6 pack or single like this.
There’s a 12% pint from the same Lithuanian brewery in the fridge waiting for me.

Some Valpolicella Classico I picked up from the LCBO that was on sale.

I had to google LCBO - interesting that the Ontario province had for nearly 100 years a near- monopoly on liquor sales through a government managed organization.
Not particularly bothered by it, just interesting.

Have ‘er try Commodore. Choices on Sparrow are this or McCor mick rum. Kid in the yar d had a bunch of friends over for his 31st today. Lots of weird beers on offer but they just make me bloat and burp. Excellent 1/4 pig and fixings though! I just stick to my regulars...

And some local rum barrel aged sour ale that is... interesting... but 7%

Seems like good stuff! I was about to say that the label is pretty metal, and looked it up to find that to l iterally be the case. At any rate, I’ve never tried any Lithuanian beer and w ish I’d come across some here. A different beer for most nights of the week helps tide me over, so your consumption seems truly restrained . I really don’t mind wine ( for the bright taste), but struggle to really appreciate it in greater depth than that. A $5 bottle is just as good to me, and I’d prefer beer in most cases. There’s an old family convenience store with most of the local craft brewery releases at fair prices which helps in that pursuit . Richmond, VA for reference- decent beer scene as far as I can tell . Cool to see a change of beer (and Dragon Lady at that) !

Best boxed wine I’ve ever had... better than 75 % of the bottled wines I’ve had tbh

Bad tequila in a margarita with my favorite glass. Road 31 miles around the lake in good weather and went shopping for Halloween supplies with my daughter. A good day.

A local grocery store has a small wall of singles that are a mix of local craft brews and strange imports like this. This caught my eye and it had to come home with me. I enjoyed it enough I bought a couple more the next time I was in the store.
I brought it home and showed my wife, she actually read the label and pointed out it was made in Lithuania.
For another week I’m in St Louis and enjoying our healthy craft brew scene. Its still big on the west coast so I imagine I’ll find more than a few out in California.
I try to not drink anything from a big brewery and frequently pick a beer based either on the name or label and drink some terrible beers but some good ones too.

Definitely sounds like a good day!

And Georgetown Brewing generally makes great beer, so there’s that.
But the cat on the label means I’ll buy it at least once (I have a feeling it will be too sweet for me, though).

A cromulent and inexpensive mä rzen.
Really, it’s quite not bad at all . Better than many hackneyed attempts at seasonal cash grabbing. Is it a prize winner? No. Is it totally drinkable and does it hit all the right flavor notes? Absolutely ! As I have had three of thrm I am now going to sleep.
